2 c. plain flour 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 1/2 c. shortening 2/3 c. milk Sift 1 cup flour into mixing bowl (make a well), then sift 1 cup flour, baking powder and salt into well. Add shortening and milk and mix well. Put on floured board and knead lightly. If needed, add a little more flour to keep from sticking. Roll out to about 1/2 inch thick and cut out. Makes about 15 biscuits. Bake 10 or 12 minutes in medium hot oven. |
