SWEDISH CRUMB CAKE | |
2 c. light brown sugar 2 c. flour 1 c. butter 1 c. sour cream or buttermilk 1 beaten egg 1 c. raisins 1 c. chopped nuts 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ground cloves 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 scant tsp. baking soda Mix together to crumb texture first 3 ingredients, saving about 1/3 for topping. Add baking soda to sour cream or buttermilk and combine with rest of ingredients. Add these to the above crumb mixture. Pour into greased, floured 7 x 9-inch cake pan. Spread over it the 1/3 amount of crumb mixture set aside for topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 55 minutes. |
