BANANA - WALNUT BREAD 
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. mashed bananas
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix sugar, shortening and eggs. Beat hard until light. Blend in banana. Add sifted dry ingredients, beating until smooth. Stir in walnuts. Pour into a greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60 to 70 minutes. Cool on rack.
