GERMAN POTATO SALAD 
11-12 med. red potatoes, cooked and sliced
1 lg. cucumber, peeled and sliced
4-5 pieces of celery, sliced
1 med. red onion, sliced
Parsley, salt, and pepper
1/2 lb. lean bacon, sliced width ways
6 tbsp. sugar
1 scant c. vinegar

Fry bacon and pour off excess fat. Mix sugar with 1 scant cup vinegar. Carefully pour vinegar mixture over fried cut bacon and heat to boil. Pour over potatoes and vegetables; mix.
