GRANDMAS POPPY CAKE 
1 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 (12 oz.) can Solo poppy filling
4 eggs, separated
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
Confectioners' sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour tube pan. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add poppy filling. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each one. Add vanilla and sour cream. Sift together flour, soda and salt. Add to mixture gradually beating well after each.

Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Fold into batter. Turn batter into prepared pan. Bake about 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until a cake tester comes out clean. Allow to cool about 5 minutes. Remove from pan and dust with powdered sugar.
