MOM'S SWEDISH RAISIN CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 pkg. raisins, boiled
1 c. raisin juice
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
Nuts (opt.)

Boil raisins. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Put soda in raisin juice (over the bowl) and add to creamed mixture alternately with dry ingredients. Add raisins and nuts last.
