BISCUITS SUPREME 
2 c. flour
4 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 c. solid shortening
2/3 c. milk

Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add milk, stir slightly. Turn out onto floured surface. Knead gently 1/2 minute. Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut out. Bake at 425 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
