3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
2 c. candied cherries
2 c. black walnuts or pecans
1 1/2 c. coconut

Beat butter, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla until fluffy. Stir in buttermilk. Mix in dry ingredients. Stir in cherries, nuts, coconut. Chill 2 hours. Drop on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Pecans may be exchanged for black walnuts. For more festive at Christmas, use one cup of red and one cup of green cherries.
