RUTH'S SUGAR COOKIES (Never
Fail)
 
Beat with fork until blended:

Stir in: 2 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. grated lemon rind

Blend in 3/4 cup sugar until mixture thickens. Sift together and stir in: 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt

Drop by teaspoons about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Flatten with greased bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake until delicate brown at 400 degrees. Remove from sheet immediately. Makes 3 dozen cookies.
