FILLED MOLASSES COOKIES 
1 c. molasses
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. sugar
1 c. lard
2 c. flour, add more if needed for easier rolling
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1/4 tsp. salt
Flour, enough to roll

FILLING:

1/2 box raisins, chopped
1 c. sugar
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla

Boil raisins, sugar and water for 2 or 3 minutes. Thicken with a paste made of 3 tablespoons flour and a little cold water. Add vanilla. Cool. When cool, spread filling on half of the cookies and cover with remaining cookies.
