MICROWAVE CLAM CHOWDER 
3 slices bacon
1 (8 oz.) can minced clams
1 1/2 c. cubed potatoes
1/3 c. chopped onion
1 med. carrot, sliced
2 tbsp. flour
2 c. milk
1 c. light cream
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. thyme

Cook bacon on high for 4 minutes. Remove bacon. Add clam juice to bacon drippings, put clams aside.

Add potatoes, carrot and onion to bacon drippings and clam juice. Cover and cook on high for 8 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Add flour to vegetables; mix well. Slowly add milk to vegetables; mix well. Cook on high uncovered for 4 minutes. Add cream, salt, pepper, thyme, clams and crumbled bacon. Cook on high for 4 minutes.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
