MOLASSES COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. dark molasses (Grandma's works best)
1/2 c. cold water
5 to 6 c. flour
3 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. salt

Cream shortening and sugars; add molasses and cold water, ginger, soda, salt and flour. Mix well. Chill 1 hour. Roll in small balls and bake at 350 degrees. These flatten while cooking. Do not over bake.

NOTE: Dough is soft, but can be handled.
