PECAN BALLS 
1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. almond extract
2 c. sifted flour
2 c. finely chopped pecans

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Stir in salt, extract, flour and pecans. Mix well. Chill several hours. Shape dough into small balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake in moderate oven at 300°F to 325°F for 12 to 15 minutes. While still warm, roll in powdered sugar. When completely cooled, roll in confectioners sugar again.

Makes 5 dozen.
