SOUR CREAM COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter
1 pt. sour cream
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs
2 c. sugar

In a bowl add baking soda to sour cream and let stand. Cream sugar and butter; add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with sour cream and continue to beat well.

Pour some batter into greased tube pan, then the filling. Continue to alternate the batter and filling, ending with filling on top. Gently pat chopped nuts into batter so that nuts stay on top. Place cake in preheated 350 degree oven for 1 to 1 1/4 hours. Test cake with tester to see if done.
