SCOTCH CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. flour (all-purpose)
1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda, mixed in buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco (not oil)
1 c. water
2 eggs

Mix flour and sugar in bowl. Bring to a boil the butter, Crisco, cocoa and water. (Bring to rapid boil; stir all the time.) Pour this in the flour and sugar mixture. Add remaining ingredients and beat.

Bake in greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan 30 minutes at 400°F.

Frosting for Scotch Chocolate Cake:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 box confectioners sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. flaked coconut

Boil butter, cocoa and milk together. Add remaining ingredients. Mix and pour on HOT cake.
