SWISS ONION QUICHE | |
1 frozen deep-dish pie shell 1 1/2 c. shredded Swiss cheese 1 (3 oz.) can French fried onions 3 eggs, slightly beaten 1 1/2 c. half and half 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper Paprika Sour cream Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Let pastry shell defrost at room temperature. Bake pastry shell 7 minutes. Remove from oven and set aside. Reduce oven temperature to 375 degrees. Layer cheese and 1 1/3 cups French fried onions in pie shell. In a medium bowl, combine eggs, half and half, salt and pepper. Beat with wire whisk or fork until well mixed but not frothy. Pour egg mixture over cheese and onions. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake 45 minutes or until knife inserted one inch from center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with remaining onions and sour cream. Makes 6 servings. |
