MAPLE LAYER CAKE 
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. milk
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. Maplene flavoring
1 c. walnuts, chopped

Cream eggs, sugar, and Crisco. Sift flour, salt, and baking powder. Add 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 flour; beat. Then 1/2 cup milk and remaining flour and walnuts; mix. Bake at 350 degrees.

FROSTING:

Powdered sugar
Crisco
1/3 tsp. salt
Sm. amount milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. Maplene

Mix until smooth. Put cut up walnuts on top of cake.
