1 c. flour
3 c. yellow cornmeal
1 lb. lard
3-4 tbsp. peanut butter
2-3 c. wild bird seed mixture

Put all ingredients into large mixing bowl. Knead together with hands until well mixed (very messy job). Refrigerate overnight.

Stuff small portions into a suet feeder, or smear onto pine cones (before you refrigerate mix) and hang from tree branch or eaves near a favorite window. Keep remainder of mix refrigerated and replenish feeders as needed.

This is a favorite of nut hatchers, cardinals, tit mice, chickadees, woodpeckers, wrens, etc. Not for human consumption.
