SUGAR COOKIE HEARTS 
1/2 lb. unsalted butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
3 1/2 to 4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract

ICING:

3-4 drops lemon juice
1 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 egg white
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate

Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs until smooth. Sift together flour and baking powder, add to butter mixture alternately with milk. Mix until well blended. Wrap and chill dough 3 hours or more.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Divide dough into thirds. Roll each section to 1/8 inch thickness. Cut shapes and place on parchment-covered baking sheet. Bake until golden, about 10-12 minutes. Cool on racks.

Melt chocolate and add to other icing ingredients. Drizzle icing over cooled cookies. 30-40 cookies.
