GOURMET CHEESE CASSEROLE | |
1/2 lb. med. egg noodles 1 lb. ground beef 2 cans tomato soup 4 oz. Philadelphia cream cheese 1/2 c. sour cream 2/3 c. cottage cheese 1 c. Swiss or Mozzarella cheese, grated 2 tbsp. chopped onion 1 tbsp. chopped green pepper 1 tsp. basil 1/2 tsp. garlic powder Cook noodles about 7 minutes. Rinse in cold water to stop cooking and toss with a little oil to prevent sticking. Brown ground beef and drain well. Add tomato soup and heat through. Blend cream cheese and sour cream together until smooth and creamy. Gradually add cottage cheese, Swiss, onion, peppers, and spices and mix on low until well blended. Spread in greased casserole in layers, 1/2 of meat sauce, 1/2 of noodles, all of cheese mixture, 1/2 of noodles, all of cheese mixture, 1/2 of noodles; rest of meat sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. |
