BUTTER HORNS 
1 (12 oz.) container cottage cheese
1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter
2 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt

Cream butter and cottage cheese. (This is a very important step - curds must be completely crushed). Add flour and salt. Chill 4 hours or overnight. Divide in 3 equal parts. Roll each into 9 inch circles. Cut into 12 wedges (36 all together). Roll into crescent staring from wide end. Bake in 350 degree oven 35-40 minutes. Be sure that they are light brown before removing from oven.

FROSTING:

1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 tbsp. milk
Pinch of cream of tartar (optional)

Frost while still warm. Yields 36.
