FANCY BEEF AND CABBAGE SOUP 
1 lb. ground beef
2 (15 oz.) can kidney beans (with sauce)
1 (13 3/4 oz.) can beef broth or 2 tsp. beef bouillon granules dissolved in boiling water
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 can crushed tomatoes
2 c. shredded cabbage

Brown ground beef and drain off fat. Mash 1/2 cup beans to make a paste. Combine all ingredients into a large 3 quart saucepan and bring to a boil. Cover. Reduce heat and simmer 30-40 minutes.
