FRUIT SQUARES 
3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 & 3/4 c. your choice of any jam or preserve

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pan to use is a large cookie sheet. Sift together dry ingredients then with a fork cut butter into flour mixture until the pieces are the size of peas. Next add eggs and vanilla. Mix well.

Chill 1/4 dough, press remaining dough into the bottom of the ungreased cookie sheet. Spread 1/2 dough with 3/4 cup of preserves doing the same to the other side with another 3/4 cup of preserve or jam. Roll chilled dough on lightly floured board. Cut into 1/2 inch strips diagonally across preserves or jam to form lattice. Press edges to seal. Bake for 35 minutes until lightly browned. Cool. Then cut into squares.
