CHERRY STREUSEL CAKE 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour, sifted
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (22 oz.) can cherry pie filling
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. flour

Cream together butter and sugar. Blend in eggs. Sift flour with baking powder and salt and blend into creamed mixture. Batter will be very stiff. Spread three-fourths of the batter in a greased baking dish about 9 x 11 inches. Cover with pie filling, spreading it evenly. Drop remaining batter by the spoonful on top of the cherries. Combine 2 tablespoons butter with brown sugar and 1/2 cup flour to make a crumbly mixture. Sprinkle on top. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes 12 to 16 servings. It is best warm.
