QUICK 'N' EASY BROWNIES 
12 tbsp. cocoa
4 tbsp. shortening or oil
2/3 c. butter, softened
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. nuts, chopped

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. In a large bowl, mix cocoa and shortening or oil; set aside.

3. Stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla. Beat well. In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Blend well. Stir into chocolate mixture. Stir in nuts. Spread evenly in a greased 12x9x2 baking pan.

4. Bake for 30-40 minutes.

5. Let cool about an hour.

6. Cut into desired squares.
