WHOLE WHEAT ROLLS
2 pkg. dry yeast
2 c. lukewarm water
1/2 c. melted shortening
1/2 c. sugar
3 tsp. salt
3 eggs
3 c. whole wheat flour
3 1/2 c. white flour (or enough to make dough easy to handle)

Soften yeast in water. Add sugar, salt and 2 cups of whole wheat flour. Beat until smooth. Add shortening and eggs, beating well. Add remaining whole wheat flour and enough white flour to form dough. Knead and place in a greased bowl. Cover and set in warm place to rise until more than doubled, 2 hours or more. Shape into rolls and place in well greased pans or muffin pans. Cover and leave until light, about 20 to 30 minutes. Bake at 350 degrees until brown, 20 to 25 minutes. Makes 2 1/2 to 3 dozen good sized rolls. You can also make loaves.
