GINGER COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 whole egg
1/4 c. dark molasses (use less)
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves

Cream butter and sugar; add egg, molasses and the dry ingredients, sifted together. Form into balls the size of a small walnut, roll in granulated sugar, place 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Makes 3 1/4 dozen.
