APPLE BUTTERSCOTCH CAKE 
1/2 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. cold water

Mix above ingredients and fold in the following:

2 c. chopped raw apples
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. butterscotch chips

Sprinkle the following mixture on the top of cake before baking:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. butterscotch chips

Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes in a 9 x 13 inch pan.
