HAZELNUT - DATE DROP COOKIES 
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. orange peel, finely shredded
1 tsp. vanilla
1/3 c. orange juice
1 1/2 c. (6 oz.) ground hazelnuts
1 1/4 c. pitted dates, snipped

In mixer bowl, combine flour, baking powder and dash of salt. Beat butter on low 30 seconds. Add sugar, beat until fluffy. Add egg, peel and vanilla and beat well. Stir in juice, then flour mixture. Stir in ground nuts and dates. Drop by teaspoon 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges begin to brown. Makes 48 cookies.
