GRANDMA'S HOMEMADE BREAD | |
3 3/4 c. warm water 1 1/2 c. powdered milk mix Add: 1 c. sugar (white or brown) 5 c. flour Stir well. Cover. Let rise in warm place 1 hour. Add: 2 tbsp. salt 2 c. flour Put flour in big pan. Make low place in flour. Pour salt mixture in it. Work flour in from side. Knead. Grease top, cover. Set in warm place one hour. Place on floured board work till smooth. Cut in 2 and then each 1/2 into 3 parts. Making dough for 6 loaves. Work till smooth. Place in greased pans. Keep warm. Let rise 1 hour. Place in oven for 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes until golden brown on top. Let cool. My Grandma's recipe. |
