GARDEN SALAD | |
1 c. sugar 1/2 c. vinegar 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. Wesson Oil 1 (#303) can French style green beans 1 (12 oz.) can LeSueur shoe peg corn 1 (8 1/2 oz.) can Lesueur early peas 1 (2 oz.) jar diced pimentos 1 c. celery 1 c. bell pepper 2 bunches green onions Bring the first 5 ingredients to a rolling boil; then put aside and let cool to room temperature (sometimes I set the mixture in the freezer while I prepare the remainder of the ingredients.) Drain ingredients Number 6 through 9 in a colander. Cut up ingredients; 10, 11, and 12. Combine all the above and refrigerate. This should have time to get very cold before serving. This recipe makes quite a lot. Also, it may be made a day or so in advance because it will keep for about a week in the refrigerator. |
