FRUIT SOUP 
1 qt. water
1/2 to 3/4 lb. dried prunes
1/2 lb. raisins
1/4 lb. dried apricots (if desired) or use unpeeled orange wedges cut from cross sliced orange slices or use unpeeled apple chunks or sour pie cherries
1/4 c. lemon or orange juice
1 or 2 sticks cinnamon
1 rounded tbsp. minute tapioca
Up to 12 oz. white grape juice
Sugar as desired

Soak apricots, if used, with tapioca in some or all of water, especially if this fruit is very dry. Cook, covered, prunes, raisins, apricots, tapioca, cinnamon sticks, and lemon or orange juice. Simmer about 10 minutes. Add grape juice, apples, oranges, or cherries. Cook 10 to 15 minutes longer. Remove cinnamon sticks. Chill.
