SLOPPY JOE ON CORNBREAD 
1 lb. hamburger
3/4 c. onion
1/2 c. celery
1/2 c. green pepper
1 grated carrot
1 (10 oz.) can tomato puree or ketchup
1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
1/4 tsp. pepper

Brown ground beef in a large skillet. Stir in onion, celery, and green pepper. Add carrot, tomatoes, and ketchup. Stir mixture thoroughly. Add black pepper. Simmer for 1 hour. Serve over split squares of cornbread.
