ORANGE DROP COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. sour milk
1 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 orange-grated (rind or juice)

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, grated orange (rind and juice) and sour milk. Sift dry ingredients together. Gradually add to liquid mixture. Mix well. Drop by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet. Bakes at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until cookie springs back like cake when tested. Cool and ice with orange icing.

ORANGE ICING:

5 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. orange juice or flavoring extract
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Melt butter, add sugar and flavoring. Blend in enough hot water to make spreading consistency.
