TWINKIE CAKE 
1 yellow cake mix, bake as directed on box
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. butter
1 c. milk
1/2 c. Crisco
5 tbsp. flour

In saucepan, combine milk and flour. Cook on low heat until thick. Cool. Combine sugar, salt, Crisco, butter and vanilla. Beat until very light and fluffy. Fold in cooled flour mixture. Cut cake into 2 layers. Spread mixture on one layer, top with other layer. Cut into slices.
