GRANDMA'S FLUFFY WHITE FROSTING 
2 egg whites
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 tbsp. light corn syrup
Dash of salt
1 1/4 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg whites, sugar, water, corn syrup and salt over boiling water in double boiler for 7 minutes or until frosting will stand in stiff peaks. Use low speed just until mixed, then use high speed. Remove from water, add 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla. Beat 1 more minute. Spread on your favorite cake.

I just made this and it is spectacular! Been looking for that small box of powdered, "fluffy white" frosting mix you added boiling water to for YEARS; this is exactly like it in taste and consistency!! Had to add maybe 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar since it wasn't quite as stiff as it should have been (hot, humid here). Reminds me of licking the bowl and the beaters as a kid. And it makes plenty!
