AUNT RIVERS' BREAD PUDDIN'
2 loaves stale bread
1 can condensed milk
1 can evaporated milk
Sugar to taste
Dash of vanilla
5 eggs
Raisins to taste
1 stick butter, softened
Cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice to taste
Walnuts (optional)

Combine evaporated and condensed milks, crumble bread and soak in milk mixture until softened. Add eggs, sugar, butter, spices, vanilla and raisins. Mash everything together and mix with your hands. (It's just not the same if you do it with a spoon.)

Bake in an ungreased pan at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours until it rises and turns golden brown on top. Don't be impatient now. Let it cool completely before you taste it.
