JALAPENO CORN BREAD 
1 (16 oz.) can cream style corn
3/4 c. milk
1/3 c. melted shortening
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. corn meal
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
4 oz. seeded jalapeno pepper, chopped
8 oz. New York sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Mix all ingredients in order given. Pour into greased pan 9 x 13 inch or large iron skillet preferred. Bake 45 minutes in 400 degree oven. Remove and let cool about 15-20 minutes. Slice and serve.
