TAIWAN SHREDDED BEEF WITH ONIONS | |
1 1/2 lbs. sirloin steak, cut 1/8 inch thick 1 tbsp. cornstarch 4 tbsp. soy sauce 3/4 c. vegetable oil 2 c. chopped onions 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper Cut the steak into match like pieces. Toss with cornstarch and 2 tablespoons soy sauce. Heat 4 tablespoons oil in skillet; add onions and salt; saute 3 minutes. Remove onions. Heat remaining oil in skillet. Saute the meat until lightly browned. Mix in the onions, remaining soy sauce, and the pepper, stirring well for 1 minute. Serves 4-6. Excellent with fried or browned rice. |
