SCRUMPTIOUS CHOCOLATE LAYER BARS 
2 c. (12 oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
2/3 c. (5.3 oz. can) evaporated milk
1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
1/2 tsp. almond extract
3 c. unsifted plain flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter, softened
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. almond extract

Combine chocolate chips, cream cheese and evaporated milk in medium saucepan. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until chips are melted. Remove from heat, add nuts and flavoring; set aside.

Combine other ingredients in mixing bowl until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Press half of mixture in greased 13"x9" pan; spread with chocolate mixture. Spread rest of crumbs over filling.

Bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Cool, cut into bars. Makes about 3 dozen bars.
