BOSTON BAKED BEANS 
2 c. dried navy beans
1/2 lb. salt pork, halved
1/2 c. dark molasses
2 tsp. grated onion
1/2 tsp. dry mustard

Soak beans overnight in water to cover. Bring to a boil in the same water, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 hour. Drain; save water. Put half of pork in 6-cup bean pot. Add beans, molasses, onion, mustard and 1/2 cup bean water. Put other pork half on top. Cover and bake in a slow oven (300°F) for 5 hours, adding bean water if needed. Uncover.

Bake for 1 hour.

Serves 6.
