SYRUP CANDY 
3 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1 c. dark Karo syrup
3 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. butter
Chopped nuts (optional)

Mix sugar, water, Karo syrup. Cook until soft ball stage, then add remaining ingredients. Mix well and pour onto greased plate.
