2 sticks butter
1/2 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. orange extract
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
1/2 tsp. almond extract

Cream butter, sugar and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time. Beat well after each addition. Sift flour and baking powder together. Add alternately to butter mixture with milk. Add extracts. Beat well. Pour into greased and floured tube pan. Place in cold oven. Turn on to 350 degrees. Bake 1 hour and 25 minutes. butter can be substituted for butter. Also butter-flavored Crisco makes a richer cake.
