CHRISTMAS CHERRY COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. sifted powdered sugar
2 c. all purpose flour
1 c. chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Red or green candied cherries

Cream butter and sugar, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer. Add vanilla. Add flour and pecans which have been mixed together. Mix until well blended. Shape dough into 1 inch balls; place on ungreased cookie sheets. Press one half cherry in center of each cookie. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool. Makes 3 dozen.
