GERMAN CHOCOLATE SQUARES 
1 box German chocolate cake mix
1/3 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. butter, melted
1 c. pecans, chopped
14 oz. pkg. Kraft caramels, melted
1/3 c. evaporated milk (more)
6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces

Into large mixing bowl, put German chocolate cake mix. Add melted butter and a third cup evaporated milk. Mix until well blended. Fold in chopped nuts.

Butter generously a pan, 13 x 9. Spoon half the batter into pan and bake at 350 degrees for only six minutes. Remove from oven.

Mix melted caramel candies with the other third cup evaporated milk. Pour this mixture over the baked portion and sprinkle on chocolate chips. Spoon remaining half of dough on top. Return to oven and bake at 350 degrees F for 15 to 18 minutes. Cool in refrigerator for one hour before cutting.
