1 c. butter
3 oz. cream cheese
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. nuts (optional)

Cream together the butter, cream cheese and sugar. Add the vanilla. Sift together the salt and flour; add to the creamed mixture. Add nuts. Refrigerate dough. Roll small balls of dough in sugar (may use colored sugars for holidays). Bake on ungreased sheets, 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
