1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
4 tbsp. red food coloring
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. vinegar

Mix sugar and butter. Add eggs and mix. Set aside. Mix flour and salt and cocoa. Add buttermilk. Mix into sugar and butter bowl. Add vanilla and food coloring. In a small bowl, dissolve baking soda in vinegar. Fold into recipe, do not mix. Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350 degrees.
