CINDY'S BREAD | |
2 pkg. dry yeast or 2 1/2 tbsp. Edith's baking yeast 3/4 c. warm tap water 2 2/3 c. warm tap water 1/4 c. sugar 1 tbsp. salt 3 tbsp. shortening 9-10 c. all purpose flour Dissolves yeast in 3/4 water. Stir in 2 2/3 warm water the sugar, salt, shortening, 4 cups of the flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in enough of the remaining flour to make dough easy to handle. Turn dough onto lightly floured board. Knead until smooth and elastic about 10 minutes. Place in greased bowl; turn greased side up. Cover; let rise in warm place until double, about 1 hour. Punch down and place in bread pans or make into rolls. Don't forget to grease pans. Let rise again and bake at 400 degrees. |
