FIRST 10 DAYS:

Mix 2 1/2 cups sugar, 1 large can of peaches and 1 cup starter. (If no starter, just use sugar and peaches. Mix together in gallon jar, cover with plastic wrap. Stir once daily.)

SECOND 10 DAYS:

Add 2 1/2 cups sugar and 1 large can of pineapple to mixture. Continue to keep covered with plastic wrap and stir once daily.

THIRD 10 DAYS:

Add 2 1/2 cups sugar and 2 (8 oz.) jars of maraschino cherries. Continue to cover and stir.

At the end of 30 days, drain, keep juice. Use 3 boxes of cake mix for batter. Make according to box. Add 3 boxes of instant pudding to batter. Add fruit, mix. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-40 minutes or until done. Makes approximately 12 cakes.

Give a cup of starter with each cake to a friend. Store remainder in refrigerator.
