FROSTED DATE - NUT COOKIE DROPS 
1 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 egg
1/4 c. milk
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda

FROSTING:

3 tbsp. melted butter
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. reserved date mixture

Combine dates and water in saucepan; bring to a boil and set aside to cool. Cream together butter and sugar in a bowl. Beat in egg and milk, then mix in dry ingredients. Set aside 2 tablespoons of date mix for frosting. Stir remainder into batter. Stir in nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. When cool, mix together frosting ingredients and spread on top of cookies.
